Olive oil or butter: 1 tablespoon
Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
Cumin: 1/2 teaspoon
Salt: to taste
Black pepper: to taste
Water or broth: 1/4 cup
Lime (optional): squeeze
Cilantro (optional): small handful, chopped
Heat oil or butter in a pan over medium heat.
Add garlic and cook until fragrant (about 30 seconds).

Add beans and water or broth.
Stir and let simmer for 5–10 minutes until warmed through and slightly thickened.
Season with salt and pepper.
Finish with a squeeze of lime and fresh cilantro if using.
