INGREDIENTS
INSTRUCTIONS
Ground beef: 1 lb
Ground pork: ½ lb (optional but recommended)
Olive oil: 1 tbsp
Onion: 1 small, finely chopped
Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
Carrot: 1, finely chopped
Celery: 1 stalk, finely chopped
Tomato paste: 2 tbsp
Crushed tomatoes: 1 can (14–28 oz)
Beef broth: ½ cup
Milk or cream: ½ cup
Italian seasoning: 1–2 tsp
Salt: to taste
Black pepper: to taste
Optional:
Red wine: ½ cup
Parmesan: for serving
1. Sauté base
Set Instant Pot to Sauté.
Add oil, then cook onion, carrot, and celery until softened.
2. Add garlic + meat
Add garlic and cook briefly.
Add ground meat and cook until browned.
3. Build flavor
Stir in tomato paste and cook 1–2 minutes.
(Optional: deglaze with wine)
4. Add liquid
Add crushed tomatoes, broth, seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Scrape bottom to prevent burn notice.
5. Pressure cook
Seal lid and cook on High Pressure for 20–25 minutes.
Natural release 10 minutes.
6. Finish
Stir in milk or cream for richness.
Adjust seasoning.
7. Serve
Serve over pasta, rice, or even gnocchi 👀
Top with parmesan.
NOTES
Finely chopped veggies = better texture
Milk softens acidity and deepens flavor
Let sit a few minutes after cooking to thicken
Even better the next day
