INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

Long-grain white rice: 1 cup

Butter: 2 tbsp

Onion: ¼ cup, finely chopped (optional)

Garlic: 1 clove, minced (optional)

Orzo or broken spaghetti: ¼ cup (optional)

Chicken or vegetable broth: 2 cups

Salt: to taste

Black pepper: to taste


Optional:

Turmeric: pinch

Paprika: pinch

Parsley: garnish

Lemon juice: squeeze

1. Sauté and toast

Set Instant Pot to Sauté mode.

Melt butter and add orzo (if using), cooking until lightly golden.

Add rice and cook 2 minutes until fragrant.

Stir in onion and garlic for 1 minute.


2. Add liquid and seasoning

Pour in broth, salt, pepper, and any spices.

Scrape the bottom to prevent sticking.


3. Pressure cook

Seal lid and cook on High Pressure for 4 minutes.

Let natural release for 10 minutes, then vent remaining pressure.


4. Rest and fluff

Open lid and fluff with a fork.

Add herbs, lemon, or any extras.

NOTES

Toasting the rice = better flavor

Don’t skip scraping the bottom (avoids burn notice)

Let it sit after cooking for fluffier texture

Add frozen veggies after cooking and let sit on warm
