My Love Letter To Those That Are In Need.

A reminder for when life feels overwhelming.

A lone figure standing tall against a dark storm, illuminated by a soft glowing horizon, symbolizing resilience, freedom, and inner strength.
For the moments when the world feels heavier than you can carry.

What happened in Minnesota is what happens when cowards are given a participation award to be “in charge.” They take all their pain and suffering and try to burn the world around them so everyone can feel as powerless as they do. The exalting of their own inferiority, meant to assuage the leaking, destitute feeling of helplessness in a world too full of possibility, is a disgrace.

In the past year, I have learned about people who do and live like this. The antidote to their tawdry ways is to celebrate being alive with all the gusto and might I can possess. This squashes the thought in their heads that the power they have is superior in any way because you have decided they no longer have it.

For those who decided to give up their freedom for the sake of safety: not only do you deserve neither, since you’ve trapped yourself behind walls that have cleaved you from help, but I will forever be utterly disappointed. I will be disappointed in your lack of courage and in the depth to which you will never be seen as the brave hero you keep lying to yourself that you are.

For those who want to celebrate freedom, I can’t promise that the world will never be scary again or that pain won’t follow. I encourage you, however, to take that fear as a companion and stand your fucking spine straight up, keep your chin held high, proud of the person you have chosen to become. I hope you celebrate as often as you can the beautiful life you have created for yourself. Make sure to tell the folks you love that you love them, with reckless abandon, as often as you can.

And whether you mix up your right foot with your left, or you are dexterous or deft, be brave, my beautiful friends.

Live Soft & Boldly Brave.
